In addition to the popular titles you can borrow from our regular eBook collection, you can also download thousands of extra eBooks that will not count against your normal checkout limit. These eBooks are made possible by Project Gutenberg, a volunteer effort to digitize classic books that have expired copyrights. Project Gutenberg eBooks are different from the regular eBooks in our collection. There are no checkout limits or due dates, so you are free to download as many of these eBooks as you like. Downloading eBooks from the library works much the same way as checking out regular books. Each eBook can be read by one borrower at a time. When you download, or "check out", an eBook, it is no different than if you pulled the book off the shelf. Just like regular books, you can join waiting lists for eBooks that are currently checked out by other patrons. When you do this, you will receive an e-mail when your eBook is available for download.
